Hey everyone! If you’re here, then that means you were redirected from one of my OWLS posts and are curious about who OWLS are, what we do, and potentially want to check out some of our work since “the beginning”. Luckily, with some of WordPress’s new functions, all of the must-knowns have been put together by this Nerdy Fujo (for you lovely people) into one “document”
Who is OWLS?
How do you like our new mascot! (2020)
OWLS is a group of content creators who promote acceptance of all individuals regardless of race, nationality, gender, sexual orientation, religion, and disability. We emphasize the importance of respect, kindness, and tolerance to every human being. Every month we discuss real-world topics through online tours, sharing personal experiences and analyzing pop culture, literature, and other forms of media.
Even though we come from all walks of life, each and every one of our amazing members are dedicated to our cause!
How Do We Do This?
Every month, OWLS hosts Blog Tours to promote acceptance and love. Blog tours start on the OWLS website where we announce the month’s theme and our schedule, which includes when our members will be talking about that month’s topic. From there we dive into various platforms where our members are hosted. In 2017, all of our members were bloggers, however, we’re happy to note that we now also have some YouTubers in our midsts! After touring all over the internet where our members’ blogs and youtube channels are stationed, we end up back at the OWLS website with a roundup
When possible, some of our OWLS members have also done livestream wrap-ups where we discuss the month’s topic, what our members wrote, and where we invite our watchers to drop some questions!
How to Join?
All of this sounds awesome right?! Luckily, it’s super easy to join and the requirements aren’t too constricting!
In order to join OWLS you…
- Must be passionate about the OWLS goal of spreading love and acceptance while being respectful, we’re always learning and it’s best to keep an open mind about things
- Must have a platform so that we can go visit you! It can be a blog, a youtube channel, instagram, podcast channel, etc. We are always open to new ways of spreading the message
- Must be active, please don’t decide to join and then ghost us, communication is key! We know life gets in the way sometimes and OWLS is super flexible
