I did my laundry like the good adult I am, which means it’s time to reward myself, and what better way than to start sharing some of my manga reads of the year! I did run a poll a few days ago, asking if you guys would like to see me review the manga I didn’t enjoy as well as series like this one (that I squealed at) and the majority said yes, so I’ll be doing that from now on too.

[Review] Saga of Tanya the Evil: Deus lo Vult by Carlo Zen, Narrated by Monica Rial

Can you guys believe that I requested to read this book for free via Netgalley, got my request approved, and then forgot about it?! I should log into Netgalley more frequently so this doesn’t keep happening. That said, I couldn’t NOT listen to this audiobook, right?! So I went ahead and spent the one credit I’d been saving since forever ago on my Libro.fm account to buy this beauty

[Review] Marriage to the Wolf: The Tale of an Inter-species Union by Hana Inui

In the last post I belatedly realized that I hadn’t talked about the reason I now have a Futekiya account and for “this week’s” BL recommendation, I decided to talk about one of my favorite BL manga I read this year (so far)! You might notice that I have a thing for non-human characters~

Also, if anyone doesn’t know what Futekiya is, it’s basically Crunchyroll but for BL manga. You pay a monthly fee and then you’re given access to their library of English licensed and translated works. I think it’s a really neat idea and I’m starting to see this form of English licensing happening but I’m going to be honest, as a collector, I kind of hate it. I mean, I want to have a physical copy of the manga that I read, but it’s also very convenient. Not only can you access as many BL titles as you want (granted that it’s in their library) but now you don’t have to worry about liking or disliking a story (one price for it all), which, if you collect, can get pricey. I mean, there have been quite a few titles I’ve collected where I was like, WELL, if I’d KNOWN, I probably wouldn’t have bought it. But, it is the current way to support the authors so please check it out!

[Review] The Dragon’s Husband – A Surprisingly Fluffy BL Fantasy by Ake Susaki

At the beginning of the year I was super excited because my manga count was OVER THE ROOF but now I’m too scared to even check. I’m probably behind on my yearly goal and nothing is more scary than seeing that number grow…and grow…So. I’ve decided not to check and after having a two week “break” from reading…BL manga (because you know I’ve been staying up for a few minutes every day trying to read some JJK fanfic!!!), I think I’m ready to tackle my goals again. And maybe beg forgiveness for forcing myself into Sukuna’s domain because WOW, he hot. Who am I begging? I haven’t decided yet…

[Review] King’s Maker – A story of “The Good King” by Haga and Kang Ji Young

Yesterday night I started to think, what should I share this week? I hadn’t read as much as I wanted to but I did read a couple titles I thought were humorous enough, however, as I was trying to think of something, this webcomic showed up on the front page. It had been a while since I had last read it but I recall there being a season two in the works. Perhaps it had been long enough where it was either complete or it had so many chapters I wouldn’t be able to binge it all in one night

A World Where Everything Definitely Becomes BL vs. The Man Who Definitely Doesn’t Want To Be In A BL – by Konkichi

Oh boys! It got late while I was reading all these other sexy and cute boys’ love manga that I forgot this one was supposed to go up sometime tonight! Luckily it’s still tonight. Now, I was actually holding off on sharing this one because it’s a slower title but there was some recent news related to this so I figured now would be a good time to share it. Besides, it’s such a hilarious read!! I feel like even someone who isn’t really into BL would find themselves cackling while reading this one. Maybe. Or maybe it’s all just things the fujin population of the world can understand…
