Crimson is Joining #theAnimangaFestival This Year (And You Should Too)!

Good morning everyone! We are slowly approaching the start of October, which is really one of my favorite months ever. I don’t go trick or treating but (oh boy), I love seeing all the Halloween and Spooky stuff at stores and at random houses (we have an Intense Neighbor)

And okay, this post has NOTHING to do with Halloween but aren’t these two really cute? I suddenly feel inspired to go trick or treating. But I probably won’t because that takes too much effort. I mean, I have to make a costume since apparently old people only give candies to the costumed, and then I have to go walking (preposterous!)

But you know what doesn’t take as much effort and is way funner?

🎉 Auri’s Animanga Festival 🎉

ICYGMI, the Animanga Festival is a community event created by Auri and Nairne (Manga Toritsukareru Koto) where, for the month of October, we can celebrate with our fellow otaku our True level of weebness without fear of being called out because you’re doing it too don’t judge me. But Auri tells it better in the brochure for the event, which you can access in this folder. You can also see all the events for the festival, sign up, see who else is participating, AND find their post links!!

What is the animanga festival?

Simply put, it is a month long festivity that includes aggressive writing prompts, intriguing competitions, whacky activities, remarkable talent (yours, of course) and all round fun!

When will it be celebrated?

The festivities stretch across the whole month of October, leaving sundays free for other non manga/anime related posts.

Why is it held?

Even as our community grows larger, we find ourselves losing many near and dear companions along the way. This even was created to celebrate us animanga bloggers, vloggers, reviewers in an effort to remember our amazing friends and our own work for years to come. As an added bonus, it also gives us a great chance to interact among ourselves and discover new friends.

As you guys can see, you don’t need to be a blogger to be part of this event. Even with just a twitter account, you can join. After all, the point is to talk about the community and the love of our favorite shows and you can do that in a tweet as well

🎃 So what will I be doing? 🎃

After looking through the brochure, I’ve gone ahead and picked out some of the posts I want to participate in. As I see it, I may only be really active the first week with a few posts scattered after that. The first week’s prompts are just way easier than the ones later in the month…?!

Let’s see. You guys can expect:

📌 Why BL and Husbands?: Ideally, the plan is to talk about why I like boys love, why I blog about BL, and something about my husbands.

📌 A list of BL titles for the first-timer: I’ve actually gotten a few DMs from people asking me about this and it made me remember that I’ve never written this type of post before. Biggest fail of my life?! Since this is a list for first-timers, it will mainly contain shounen-ai content

📌 A list of problematic BL titles: This one is not for the light of heart! I’ve been devouring BL for a few years now and the deeper you go, well, the darker it gets. I would have never thought I’d be reading some of the titles in this list my first few years as a fujoshi but here I am, in the darkest depths

📌 Why Tsuritama?: Not technically a haul post but considering I just got the DVD, it’s sort of my way of showing it to you all. Plus, a couple of reasons I love this short series!

📌 A Collection of My Top Posts: Oh boy, this one is going to be a tough one, especially since I always feel my content isn’t good enough but since the second week is all about self-appreciation, it must be done

That is the list of for-sure posts you guys can expect on the blog in the first two weeks. But there are also other prompts that I am side-eyeing because they look like they’d be super fun

Those prompts are:

❓ A trip itinerary of places in anime and/or manga I’d like to visit! The reason I’m hesitant about this one is that I hardly ever pay attention to locations. Posts for this prompt are supposed to go out on October 5th

Bento Boxer – Create your own bento box, taking references from various anime, manga, fan arts and more. Display your mouth-watering bento to compete with others’ bentos. May the fork be with you. These posts are due October 8th

Set Sailing – This one is all about screaming and defending your ship, which you’d think I’d have in the bag but (oomph), I don’t?! This post is due October 9th

There are also TONS more prompts and interactive events that are happening throughout the month so please check out the brochure if this sounds like something you’d like to do

There are also some free days for anyone who doesn’t really want to follow particular prompts so I’m trying to think really hard (but it’s too hard) about other content I can write

I will also be browsing through the tag on Twitter (#theAnimangaFestival) to see what everyone else is doing. Well, I guess I’ll be heading back to the shadows to write up and schedule my October posts
