3 Day Quote: He said “Books or Me”

Hey guys! Welcome back to day 3 of this 9 day quote challenge 🙂 I apologize for the wonky formatting and missing information (rules, links, and nominees). You see, I’m writing this from my phone and trying to spell check my phone’s spell check is taking most of my effort haha

  • Post one quotation a day for three days
  • Nominate 3 other bloggers to participate per post.
  • Thank the blogger who nominated you.

I wanted to post up a love-related quote today but there was a change in plans because I’m on my phone. Instead, today I have a book related quote, which seems appropriate considering the book I’m currently reading is about illegal books! Of course, if you squint, there is a bit of relationship connection

Now, I’ve never been asked this question and I hope to never be asked. I read it all the time in manga and sometimes I ask myself, what would I say? Honestly, I don’t even know but a large chunk on me says I’d definitely go with my obsessions, haha

Like, Books or me? Yaoi or me? Miyuki or me? Lyndere Club or me? I’d look my future boyfriend in the eye and be like, Do you REALLY want to know?

“Tsundoku,” the Japanese Word for the New Books That Pile Up on Our Shelves, Should Enter the English Language

Tsundoku. I do this all the time!! I have so many books and so little space, but even worse is that a lot of my novels are unread! I know, terrible isn’t it? Luckily, I am slowly but surely reading more and hopefully (HA not even) I can resist buying more books.

The library and my broke status help in my endeavor 😂

Until next time~

  1. So that was called tsundoku? I do that too. I pile all my unread books and read their e-book versions instead. I pick them up again after some time though. I somehow feel like letting them sit on the shelf will let them have the old book feeling and smell, even when they’re brand new just a few months ago.

    1. I try not to get both, if I have the physical book then i don’t want the ebook though I have to admit that sometimes I don’t even know that I have the physical book! xD A few months back I started arranging my shelves and I found some books that I’ve wanted to read for a while and just never knew I had @_@

to try and counter the whole shelves upon shelves of books I’ve started to get ebooks (but then I have some unread ebooks…) though sometimes the deals on physical books are too hard to resist!

Have you ever smelled a REALLY old book? Sometimes the smells are suffocating >_< Don't really know why some smell stronger than others though

      1. Not knowing that you have the real book? Lol. You must have a lot of books. I have a lot of unread books and ebooks too.. Lately i’ve been reading more manga and online novels that i’ve completely ignored them.. 😦 I hope to get back to them after i finish my final project. I read one book in one go and i don’t like being interrupted so it’s really hard to find time to read books. I agree that real books are hard to resist! When i go to the bookstore i almost always have one (or more) to take home.
Old books’ smell are relaxing for me though there really are those whose smell are suffocating. I think it’s because of the moisture in the air. Books in a more humid place tend to smell stronger, i think.

    1. I know! i’d redo my shelves except that I would need another shelf or two to really do things properly and space-wise, I don’t have room for more shelves ;-;

Just a curious thought, how do you go about choosing what books to buy?

      1. It varies. Sometimes based on summaries and samples, others based on authors I’ve bought from before, some due to hype, others just because they’re cheap. I just order what I think will be good and cross my fingers.
